The dreaded task.

The dreaded task. MEAL PLANNING.

Can someone please tell me… why does it take so long to compile a list of meals, a shopping list of ingredients, and don’t even get me started on cooking them.

In the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle..it’s usually the first thing to go on my never ending “to do” list.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said “daddy can just pick up dinner tonight.” It’s too easy to throw in the towel, blow the budget, and go out to eat.

But three weeks ago, I made a grocery list, went shopping, and toted everything over to my girlfriends house…

Recap of the crazy:
5 women
10 kids
12 freezer meals

We squeezed into the kitchen with all our groceries, and prepped meals. We chatted about life, and made this everyday mundane chore fun!

It filled my cup.

Community building with my friends, a playdate for my littles, and three easy to grab meals!

On my drive home I was thinking…why don’t we do this more? We need each other. We need to hold each other accountable, and encourage each other in the everyday mundane of motherhood.

You can do it! So next time you are arranging a playdate for your littles, send your girlfriend your favorite recipe, and have her tote over the groceries to make it, and make it while the kids play!

She will leave with her “social” cup filled, tired kiddos, and dinner for that night prepared!

Below I linked the the recipes that we made together..

They are all so yummy! And of course… husband, and toddler approved!

Happy Meal Planning Mommas!
