Why is it so hard for us moms to take time for ourselves?
What is “me time” you may be thinking?
Lately, I’ve been trying to practice “me time” more.
For me, this looks like waking up before my kids. Enjoying the quite. Planning out my day. Intentionally laying out our day for success. Spending time with the Lord, and even just sitting in quiet.
This is “me time” has immensely changed our lives. It has put me in a lot better mood when my kids wake up…instead of being woken up by my kids, which usually starts our day off pretty rough. “I need a snack” etc. ha!
If I could challenge you this week with a some questions to ponder they would be…
What are you doing for yourself?
Are you accepting help freely?
Who or what is filling your cup?
Are you running yourself dry?
Do you feel like a faucet or a drain?
We continually extend our hands to everyone in our family but ourselves, usually.
Think about intentional ways you can step out of the “routine” and enjoy a couple minutes of “me time.”
I promise you once you do it, it will become part of your every day, it will affect your mood, and your overall life.
Exercise, wake up early, drink coffee in quite, listen to a song, embrace family members, and babysitters that want to help!
Motherhood is a selfless act, and we work at it twenty four hours a day.
Keep up the hard work!
Invest in YOU.
